Our Story

My love of food began in my mum's kitchen, where the recipe book was treated as a place to go for inspiration; not to be taken too literally! My mother was an instinctive cook and she taught me that food speaks to everyone differently. It doesn't have to be world class cuisine at a 5* restaurant (as exciting an adventure as that may be), it just has to speak to people.

For me, my culinary inspiration comes from all over the world. Some of my fondest memories include sitting in a night market at 2am tucking into thai rice noodles, or squatting in the red dust in northern Ghana sharing a bowl of "red red" and fried plantain with friends. Sometimes the simplest food, done well,  has the power to speak to us and take us back to a place, a person, or a memory that makes us smile.
